J.T. Robinette started Art Handler Network as a way to connect art handlers, preparators, and technicians to clients in need of supplemental help.

The service similarly functions through a network of screened contractors who we place with projects based on their specific skills of the professional and the needs of the project.

John Thomas Robinette: Founder

Over the last 20 years, John has cultivated a rich knowledge of art and artifact collections management.

John has worked as both an art handler and registrar/collections manager for the last two decades and in recent years, began working for himself. Throughout this time he has worked with museums, galleries, collections, and foundations around the world which grew his network to the level required to begin J.T. Robinette.

Additionally, John served on the peer-nominated board of ARCS (Association of Registrars and Collections Specialists) and co-hosted their popular #ARCSchat discussion series and podcast. He continues to speak regularly at conferences and webinars on issues of logistics, technology, and best practices in the field. He expands on his ideas and continues to challenge his colleagues about the current state of managing art and artifact collections in his Opus Cultura blog and newsletter.

J.T. Robinette and Art Handler Network continues his decade-long trajectory of managing high-profile private collections and utilizing his vast web of contacts to realize special and complicated projects of all sorts.
